Dune Scorpion
A desert ambusher with a shallow sand-burrow tell. It reveals near a target and stings promptly at valid close range when its cooldown is ready. A successful sting can apply finite server-timed poison; repeated stings do not multiply or refresh an active poison timer.
Habitat and occurrence
Section titled “Habitat and occurrence”Catalog occurrence: uncommon. Creature species compete for the existing local spawn budget; this is not a global percentage or a guaranteed encounter. Protected new-player and cave-passage safety areas remain clear.

Poison
Section titled “Poison”A sting deals its direct damage above and can cause 1 HP every 2 s for 6 s. An active poison does not stack or refresh. Poison clears on death/respawn; an Antidote cures it only after the normal use completes. See poison and encounter advice.
Counterplay
Section titled “Counterplay”Watch for the sand tell, move out of sting range and carry an Antidote before exploring desert encounters.
| Item | Quantity range | Catalog rule |
|---|---|---|
| Chitin | 0–1 | 55% loot roll |
A range starting at zero can produce nothing. A listed probability is the actual loot roll, not a biome spawn rate or a guaranteed quantity.
Loot is rolled once through the normal authoritative death/drop flow. Drops and carried equipment use the existing save, inventory and storage systems. Natural mobs remain transient and do not become permanent saved world entities.
